FAQ

  • Do you sell dust covers? (Or any other merch?)
No. In short, a dust cover, like other merch, is a separate item from a book itself. Due to this, I do not feel comfortable selling dust covers, as I do not have the licensing to do so, nor the resources to print them or commission art. And as much as I love art, I am simply not that skilled. Perhaps down the road, I will be able to collaborate with authors and expand, but for now, this is what ya get!
  • Do you print the books you rebind?
No. The books that I rebind have been lawfully purchased from retailers, such as B&N, Half Priced Books, or my local used books store, etc. It is unlawful for me to print books I do not have copyright to. I'm simply putting on a new cover, but all books are lawfully acquired and will remain just so.
  • Copyright? What's the deal?
The books I offer are strictly being rebound. That means they have been lawfully purchased, and no contents within the book are being changed. I do not own the rights to any of the content within the books, and the authors and publishers maintain those rights. Nothing within the text-block is being changed, and I do not claim to have written the works, the copy I rebind has been lawfully acquired. Think about it this way - the books I am commissioned to rebind are. not me selling the books themself. I am getting reimbursed for a book that I paid for, and then am simply charging for the time and materials it takes to essentially decorate the outside. Nothing on the inside is changing, and the author is still getting payment for the book.
  • Do you mass produce your books?
Nope! No mass production here. I am just one person. Even if I wanted to, each book is rebound by hand. I don't have the time, energy, or resources for mass production.
  • If I am an author, can you bind my book?
Yes, I can hand bind and cover your book! As long as it is an original work! That being said, I am not capable of mass production. If you want a copy for yourself, or a few copies done, I'm happy to do a small limited run with you! Just note that this will take time for me to complete larger orders.
  • If I have you bind my book for me, what does that mean for my copyrights?
I'm not looking to mess with your copyrights at all! Your copyrights are yours! You are just commissioning me to make however many copies you are asking for, no more, no less! (Well, maybe 1 extra for my personal bookshelf if you give me permission, hehe.)
  • Binding / Rebinding Pricing?
Prices vary based on a number of factors, most boiling down to time and materials. Rebinds start at $150 for more basic binds. Custom Binds are only available to authors of Original Works (ie. No FanFics! Sorry!) Full Custom Binds are more expensive, as they require more materials for printing, plus time to hand-sew the books, plus typesetting, if needed. Custom binds start at $220 for books 600 pages or less.
  • Who designs your covers?
Each book cover is created by yours truly, though down the line, I would like to be able to commission proper artists, or hey, if you have a design in mind, I'm happy to collab. I am by far not an artist - the design area is definitely not my specialty. For inspo, I use inspiration from the books that I'm rebinding to create something I believe accurately represents the book. Covers are designed using Canva, Photoshop, or Procreate.
  • Do you source/mass-produce 3D Printed Products?
No, I do not! I print every product at home with my 3D Printer using PLA (Polylactic Acid). Each product is made & checked by me before being shipped. I do not keep any extra stock on hand, as I simply do not have the space for it. Every item is printed as it is ordered, not in advance. Because of this, I am able to offer customization, as well as not overproduce and waste products.
  • How do I care for my 3D Printed Products?
Avoid Heat and UV Exposure, as both may cause discoloration and warping. Handwash Only using Water and a Gentle Cleanser if needed. DO NOT wash with Abrasive Materials. 3D Printed Products are NOT DISHWASHER FRIENDLY. Store in a cool, dry place.
  • Can you just send me the file for me to 3D print myself?
Unfortunately no. There's a reason SpongeBob can't share the Krabby Patty Secret Formula.
  • Where all do you ship to?
I live in the US and prefer to keep shipping to the US when possible. That being said, if you are outside of the USA, I am happy to work with you where I can.
  • How long does it take to ship 3D Printed Items?
All products are made to order. Because of this, we ask that you be patient regarding wait times, though at this time, the wait is estimated to be 3 - 5 business days before shipping.
  • What's the return and refund policy?
All products are made to order - whether a custom book or a 3D-printed item. Because of this, we are unable to accept returns or to provide refunds. All sales are final. All products are thoroughly checked before shipping, but if somehow you are having issues with a defective product upon arrival, don't hesitate to get in touch with us directly.
  • How do you ship?
Each item is packaged as carefully as possible before being sent out. I typically ship using USPS, as it has been the most reliable and affordable option I've found thus far.
  • How long does it take to get my book?
Because every rebound book is hand-bound, it can take up to about 4 weeks to rebind a book. This doesn't account for time in transit. I estimate this time because I may not have specific items on hand, such as the book cloth color you'd like to use. I live in a very rural area, so materials can be hard to get. It takes time to gather materials and execute a rebind properly. I will not provide you with a book if it does not meet my own personal standards.
  • Where are you located?
I am located in Montana, USA! Because of this, I'll ask for a little patience if your project needs custom supplies. Book binding supplies aren't the easiest to come by here, so I'll likely have to order in parts for custom books.
  • How big is your team?
You're looking at it. It's just me, myself, and I here! Big ol' party of one, so please be patient! I'll do my best to respond ASAP if you have any questions, concerns, or issues.
